Anime Juke Box - Hiru no Tsuki - Outlaw Star

For this tune from the anime juke box I picked one of my favorite vocalists, Akino Arai. She seemed to pop up in some of my favorite anime of the 1990s. She has a lovely voice, and usually performs a love theme, or ballad for the show. I first encountered her in the OAV series Macross Plus as the singer of the love theme "Voices". But one of my favorite pieces is the end credits to the space opera adventure series Outlaw Star. She performed two different end title songs, and both are great. Here is the one used for the first half, "Hiru no Tsuki". Enjoy!

  1. This reminds me a bit of Kate Bush, who I like, particularly her Hounds of Love CD. It's a shame the anime soundtracks are so expensive.

    1. You said it! Anime is an expensive hobby. That was one of the reasons I stopped collecting back in the early 2000s. Before that I was spending a lot of cash on soundtracks, DVDs, manga, you name it. I still have a pretty good collection of CDs, but my love of film scores has taken over. Not that collecting film scores is any cheaper. Some of those limited editions CDs cost a bundle.

  2. You might consider a posting on your top five film scores or so--that would be interesting. Better run, FaceOff is starting :) Cheers.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion. I have posted a few blogs about my favorite composers. I've got one more of those in the wings. I also wrote a blog about one of my top ten favorites "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" by Jerry Goldsmith. Check them out when you get a chance. They would certainly provide hints to my top ten favorite scores. :)
